Exercise Prescription and Programming for Weight Loss Surgery. Our head Exercise Physiologist Daniel Jokovich was one of the first EPs in Australia to work directly with a weight loss surgery clinic to enhance the role of the surgery through exercise prescription and programming. Over the past two and a half years the team has come to understand the challenges that individuals having weight loss surgery face with regards to performing a regular exercise routine. We tailor each program to the individual and help you to develop realistic, measureable targets that will ensure optimal sucess with the surgery. As an overview in your initial session we will cover the following topics;
Pre Surgery 1) Getting Started; How to choose the correct type of exercise for you. 2) Pre- Surgery Planning; Developing pre surgery measureables. 3) Developing a weekly Plan. How much exercise to perform.
Post Surgery 4) Early Stage Recovery (0-7 days) 5) Making a full recovery. How to know when to progress your exercise routine. 6) The transition period. 7) Meals and training. How to optimise exercise recovery with the timing of your meals. 8) How to join our weight loss surgery walking group.
Combining the most appropriate, regular exercise routine with the your nutritional program will ensure you achieve optimal results with the surgery. At Phoenix Physique we run a free, regular monthly walking group exclusively for individuals that have had weight loss surgery. To find out more information about about this class click here.
